Logistics… “The planning, implementing, and controlling the efficient, cost effective flow and storage of raw materials, in-process inventory, finished goods and related information from point of origin to point of consumption for the purpose of meeting customer requirements”. (Canadian Association of Logistics Management, 1995). Simply put it, logistics is about managing the flow of materials be it raw or finished product, information & finances in the supply chain, a lot of people misunderstood the term logistics management and supply chain, logistics management is different from supply chain management, logistics management is part of the wide and complex supply chain. Logistics plays a big role in today business, as it controls the movement of the raw materials from suppliers to manufacturing parts, and from manufacturing plants to a finished product. The finished product will then be transported to the end customers. Logistics is also about the management of information flows, meaning every data from the supplier to the manufacturer must not be distorted and be easily access by either end, if information flows is not flowing smooth it will disrupt the production and the flow of the whole supply chain. Without logistics finished goods cannot be transported timely to the retailers or end customers, thus disrupting the financial transactions, because customers will not pay until they received the goods.

Cold Chain Logistics
Cold chain logistics is known in layman terms as the managing the flow of raw materials or finished products in a temperature sensitive environment (example: a range between 20 deg to -20 deg), meaning perishables products which require proper temperature maintenance to keeps the products fresh.
